The Aims of the Exe Estuary Management Partnership are to:

Promote the sustainable use of the Exe Estuary, balancing the demands made on its natural resources and resolving conflicts of interest where they arise, and:

Provide a framework for the co-ordinated management of the Estuary and to improve communication between users and organisations with authority over the Exe.

The Partnership are led by a Management & Partnership Group to whom the Exe Estuary Officer reports.
The Exe Estuary Forum and a variety of task and finish groups are serviced by the Exe Estuary Officer, to encourage wide involvement in the discussion of management issues. The Terms of Reference for the Partnership describe the organisational structure and role of each of these groups.

The Exe Estuary Management Plan due to be adopted by the Partnership in 2007, provides a description of potential management issues together with policy guidance to resolve them. It contains a set of policies and action points to guide the activities that take place in and around the estuary.

An annual Action Plan reviews progress with the Partnership's work and identifies priorities for the forthcoming year. You can find the 2005-2006 version of the Exe Estuary Action Plan 2005 - 2006 here. The 2007-2008 action plan will be available soon.

The Partnership co-ordinate the Exe Estuary Forum and a variety of task and finish groups to which anyone with an interest in or knowledge of estuary-related matters is invited to participate. If you wish to be sent the Exe-Press newsletter and be informed about upcoming meetings, please complete the Response Form. Alternatively, contact the Exe Estuary Officer directly.
