| The DWA was formed 46 years ago and in days past we had free range over the entire estuary - but times change and we now lease permit areas on both sides of the estuary, the eastern side opposite Powderham and on the Exminster Marshes. We are a highly disciplined association and all Members shooting on the estuary must have passed a comprehensive written and visual test, hold a valid permit and be comprehensively insured. Only the approved quarry birds may be shot during the Season (1st Sept - 20th Feb) and all behaviour is governed by a detailed Management Plan, drawn up in consultation with the Crown Agents and English Nature. We have elected Wardens to ensure that no misdemeanour occurs. |
