Workshop - Farm use of Soil, Manure and Nutrient Management Plans within the Exe catchment. |
| |
| England Catchment Sensitive Farming Delivery Initiative are running FREE workshops focusing on the farm use of Soil, Manure and Nutrient Management Plans within the Exe catchment.
You will hopefully be aware that the ECSFDI is working in the Exe Catchments. The aim of the ECSFDI is to raise awareness of diffuse water pollution issues and to encourage voluntary action by farmers to tackle the problem.
With this aim in mind we are writing to invite you to one of a series of small workshops across the catchment. To make the most practical use of manures as fertiliser on your farms at which practical crop fertiliser and soil specialists will:
• Help you save money by making better use of manures and fertilisers on your farm,
• Help convert formal soil, manure and nutrient management plans into action on farm,
• Help you produce ‘simplified’ practical soil, manure and nutrient management plan.
The workshops will be delivered by two advisors: John Morgan, a member of the Creedy Associates team and Ross Cherrington, a farmer and senior advisor with the West Country Rivers Trust. John has been running Practical Use of Manure events, with farmer and manure scientist colleagues, for several years. Ross has been producing and encouraging the use of management plans for many years.
We are running 15 small workshops across the priority areas of the catchment and hope to attract in the region of 10 farmers to each event. With two trainers and 10 farmers at each workshop we hope to make the events very practical with sufficient time to answer your questions and produce farmer friendly practical plans.
