Exe Catchment Profile

In this document we broaden our horizons and look upstream to the entire hydrological catchment. This is the area of land that drains water into the rivers that feed the estuary - a total of over 1500 km2. The aim of the report is to give us a better understanding of the influence of the catchment and how it effects the Exe Estuary

The ‘Exe Catchment 2004’ begins by describing the area, followed by some of the uses of the catchment. It highlights the impact of man historically, socio-economically and how the burgeoning population may increase pressures in the Catchment. Finally, how we currently deal with some of those issues such as waste management and the consequences to the quality of the environment.
