The Exe Estuary Management Partnership already create a very popular guide to exploring the Estuary called the Exe Explorer, which is updated every year.
We now wish to create 4 other leaflets that will compliment the Exe Explorer. The first leaflet that we are working on is to promote the various recreational activities available on the Estuary.
The Exe is vibrant busy place with sail boats and canoes amongst other craft to be seen on any sunny days. Their is always plenty to do and enjoy from nature walks and bird watching to golf courses and rowing clubs. The purpose of the guide is to promote all of the activities that are available and give contact details of where further information can be found to act as a guide to both visitors to the area and local residents.
In order to create an effective and informative leaflet we asked the member of the local clubs and organisations involved in recreational activities to be involved in the production of the leaflet themselves. The opportunity was advertised by emailing the clubs as well as in the local paper.
The group first met on Wednesday 9th April 2008 with representatives’ form a variety of clubs around the Estuary from fishing to cycling. The attendees were:
Exeter Cyclists Touring Club - Kirby James
