Current status report for the Exe Estuary Trail project

Exmouth to Lympstone

  • Bank remedial works completed

  • Vandalised Information boards to be replaced

Lympstone to Exton

  • Work on Nutwell Court to Exton almost complete. Section now available to the public as a “no through route”

  • Contract for Lympstone to Nutwell Court already awarded; work to commence early October; Completion anticipated early next Spring

Exton to Topsham

  • Land negotiations re access and works areas are ongoing

  • Advanced works at Goosemoor completed

  • Main construction works scheduled to start 2010 for two years

Bridge Road to Turf Lock

  • Main works complete

  • RSPB viewing facility to be erected this month

  • 2m wide by-pass path at Turf Lock to be constructed this month

Turf Lock to Powderham Church

  • Conditional Planning Approval received

  • Design ongoing re Bridge Appearance

  • Negotiations with the three landowners re access and works areas are ongoing

  • Works currently scheduled to commence 2011

Powderham Church to Exeleigh Junction

  • New surface dressing of Estuary Road completed

  • “Shared Road” facility and 20mph signs to be erected this month

Exeleigh Junction to Starcross

  • Works complete

Starcross to Cockwood

  • Works complete

Cockwood to Dawlish Warren

  • Negotiations with the two landowners are ongoing

  • Funding for works likely in 2010
