Exe Estuary Officer

The Exe Estuary Officer is Stephanie Harper-Chung. Steph has been in post since 2014, having previously been in post during 2011-2012. The Exe Estuary Officer acts on behalf of the Exe Estuary Management Partnership, coordinating activities and working with all Partners and local communities.

Steph studied Marine Biology, Oceanography and Coastal and Ocean Policy at university. Past work experience ranges from marine education to working with fisheries in Southeast Sulawesi. A qualified commercial diver, Steph has been lucky enough to have explored various exotic waters, and has worked as a dive surveyor at England’s first Marine Conservation Zone at Lundy Island.

Amongst her other qualifications, Steph is trained to use powerboats and ATVs. In her spare time, she enjoys kayaking, mountain biking, and has a few other more unusual interests away from the estuary.

As a person that is naturally drawn to exploring all aspects of a situation, Steph embraces her position of Exe Estuary Officer with a neutral and open approach.
