EEMP Governance Review 2025

The Exe Estuary Management Partnership is currently undertaking a comprehensive review of its governance framework. This includes reassessing the Partnership’s structure, chairing arrangements, governance processes, and Terms of Reference. The aim is to ensure the Partnership remains fit for purpose, aligns with the evolving landscape of nature partnerships, and supports more effective collaboration and delivery.

While the Partnership has served as a valuable forum for discussion and coordination, this review seeks to strengthen its ability to support practical outcomes and respond to current and future challenges. The intention is to bring the EEMP in line with best practices seen in other nature focused partnerships.

A draft revised governance document is currently being developed with our partners.

Feedback from the public consultation is being taken into consideration for the review of the Exe Estuary Management Plan. A summary of responses can be found in the Consultation Report, which is now available as an accessible document and as a PDF document. Please note that this is an amended version from the one initially made available (if you would like to have access to a version which highlights the amendments made, please get in touch with the Exe Estuary Officer). Annex 1 of the Consultation Report contains full responses from the online consultation form and is available as an accessible document and as a PDF document. Additional feedback was received by key stakeholders / organisations / partners outside of the online consultation forms. These will also be taken into consideration during the review of the Management Plan.
