Who is responsible for graffiti along the Exe Estuary footpaths?
Graffiti issues are not managed by the EEMP.
Graffiti and other issues on footpaths may fall under the responsibility of:
- Devon County Council (for public rights of way)
- Relevant parish or town councils (for local paths and amenities)

Who manages strimming and vegetation maintenance along the Exe Estuary?
Strimming and vegetation are not managed by the EEMP. Strimming and vegetation management responsibilities may include:
- Devon County Council (for public footpaths) – Inspections and maintenance – Public Rights of Way
- Environment Agency (for flood defence and habitat management areas) – enquiries@environment-agency.gov.uk
- Local landowners and parish councils (depending on location)
Are there beach clean-up groups I can join?
The EEMP do not organise regular beach cleans. Several organisations in the area organise beach clean-ups:
- 2 Minute Beach Clean
- Surfers Against Sewage
- Local wildlife groups and community organisations.
Is crabbing allowed on the Exe Estuary?

Guidelines include:
- Avoid disturbing wildlife and protected areas
- Do not place crab tiles without permission
- Follow local byelaws and safety guidance
